Watch · Watch
Does Watch read or upload the browser's complete history database?
It does not scan the browser History database, but events created by an ActivityWatch browser watcher can be synced.
Watch Sync uses the local ActivityWatch API as its data source rather than directly reading the history database of Chrome, Edge, Safari, or another browser.
If the user has enabled an ActivityWatch browser watcher, URL, page title, or other event fields produced by that watcher may exist in an ActivityWatch bucket. Because Watch syncs bucket events, data already recorded by ActivityWatch can also be copied to the cloud.
The precise boundary is therefore: Watch does not scan the browser's history database itself, but it can sync events that ActivityWatch has already created.
